Electronic Payments Representative

Job Overview: Provides friendly, helpful service to both members and staff that promotes financial discipline. Utilizes exceptional Electronic Funds Transfer knowledge to accurately and efficiently process a variety of electronic payment functions. Analyzes reports to identify and track trends within the electronic payment environment.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Preparing for daily interactions with a professional image and an organized workstation.
- Maintaining knowledge of TFFCU products and processes.
- Proactively accepting member/staff calls, greeting them with a positive, professional introduction, and giving them your full attention.
- Understanding the member’s objectives by asking appropriate questions and listening to the member’s responses.
- Recommending the best solution to strengthen the member’s financial well-being or guiding the member to the appropriate staff to fulfill their needs.
- Processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Following up with the member to ensure satisfaction and to provide encouragement.
- Process daily ACH files, review and edit exception entries, process posting exceptions, review mismatched names and new companies reports, post, re-post or force post entries, process NOC’s and create returned items file.
- Process related exception reports and perform account corrections in relation to returned ACH items. Accurately process applicable fee(s).
- Process ACH affidavits & stop pays.
- Process the daily Share Draft exception report. Review exceptions and determine whether to pay or return the items. Finalize batch to create the returned item file.
- Reconcile ATM/Debit transactions posted on the host processing system to the transactions sent by the network. Review the EFT ticking report for exceptions and post transactions when necessary.
- Submit wire transfer requests to the appropriate bank for processing in accordance with Policy and Procedure.
- Processes Cashier’s Check stop payments and credits the Member in accordance with Policy & Procedure.
- Process daily returned check deposits to include contacting the members and adjusting holds when necessary to comply with Credit Union policy and procedure.
- Monitor cash on hand at ATM machines and order cash when necessary.
- Provide backup coverage for other positions when needed.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and adhere to all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards that pertain to this position.

Physical Job Requirements:
- Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
- Ability to communicate with a diverse membership and employee group.
- Ability to accomplish the described responsibilities through the use of computers and technology.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a changing, challenging, and fast paced work environment.
- Variable stress levels.
- Provide own transportation.
- Occasional business travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment screening.
- Associate’s Degree or an equivalent level of knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through work experience.
- Knowledge of EFT rules and regulations
- 5 years or more experience working in a financial institution in a member/customer service environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of banking and/or credit union regulations.
- Previous EFT experience with ACH, Sharedraft, ATM/Debit programs in a financial institution or credit card company.
